For many advocates of all terrain vehicles, or ATVs, the relatively new machines are not just for off road riding or utility tasks around the farm, they are a passion. The popularity of ATVs continues to grow as more and more people find a use for them in their lives, whether it is for sport racing, hunting utility or farm vehicles. Some are so passionate they base entire businesses on the use of ATVs. Off road trails are mapped out for guided rides through the rough terrain. Others run their farms and ranches by using ATVs for numerous hauling, pulling, and tough riding tasks. A few others dedicate themselves to off road racing with ATVs. Within all these groups of ATV users there are satisfied customers who truly believe in their ATV product. To prove so many people support the many utility and recreational uses of ATVs, clubs have been put together all over the world. The ATV clubs are established to be a source of information for a particular type of ATVing in a specific area. The groups of ATV riders also come together for miscellaneous activities pertaining to their interests in ATVs.Some clubs are solely for hunters who use ATVs, and others are for ATV racers only. Rancher and farmers who use ATVs for their tough work around the land also have clubs or groups established some places. The ATVs clubs are so diverse they even include a few family oriented ATV riding groups. The wide range of established ATV users spreads across the entire United States as well as all other parts of the world from Arizona to Ontario, Canada and the Caribbean Islands. You can find information about renting, buying or selling ATVs from any of the related clubs in your area. In most areas where ATVs are commonly used, you will also find off road trails set up. Here you rent different available styles and brands of ATVs to ride through the trails. Being able to rent and try out varying types of ATVs can be an advantage when it comes to buying your own. Some areas allow you to use your own ATV, but most people who have their own four wheelers also have their own land to ride on or a location they are always allowed to ride on free of charge. In some exotic locations or areas that are highly natural, the ATV trails are incorporated with nature trails. On these types of trails your are not limited to the fast, racy driving allowed, but the guide will often stop at selected spots to point out a scenic outlook or interesting piece of nature. Opposite of the nature trails are other established trails for the public to be used specifically for racing. This type of ATV trails is the competitive aspect of the sport. Some enjoy riding for the sole rush of getting through rough terrain and others get a rush from racing against someone else through the forest. Any type of ATVing you choose to participate in worth a try and it will surely to keep you coming back time and time again..

The reality of tire-buying is that consumers usually are not passionate about the purchase of new rubber for their vehicles. Tire industry veteran Tom Kopplin intends to change that scenario.Kopplin, chairman and CEO of All Sports Tire Company, based in Orlando, is tapping into the rabid fanaticism and buying power of college sports followers by developing specialized tires with collegiate sports team names built into the sidewalls."We have created another reason for a person to buy a particular tire? and to feel good about the purchase," said Kopplin. "On the sidewall of these tires, we present an opportunity for that person to proudly show off their favorite team's name, wherever he goes."In the U.S., fans are spending nearly $3 billion annually on college-licensed merchandise, reflecting a deep desire to show their school spirit. They buy T-shirts, flags, license plate covers and countless other items, but it took Kopplin ? with his 25 years of tire sales experience ? to create the novel and practical concept of marketing outlined white letter tires that support school pride. This concept will also create additional licensing revenue for their favorite university.Golfing legend Arnold Palmer believes the concept to be so unique and financially promising that he has joined as one of the major investors of All Sports Tire Company, along with former United Airlines Chairman Richard Ferris and former LPGA Commissioner Charles Mechem. Another popular golfer, Fuzzy Zoeller, also has joined the company recently as an investor. The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company will manufacture the tires in the most popular SUV and pickup truck sizes, covering 70 percent of the identified target audience. Additional tire sizes are planned to meet the projected demand. The tires will be available as replacement offerings through distributors and tire retailers. In some cases, they also will be available as new vehicle purchase "changeovers," with All Sports Tire using some car dealer showroom displays to help promote the sales of new SUVs and pickups.Market research indicates a substantial segment of fans are passionate enough to purchase the collegiate tires, even if they still have useful tread remaining on their existing tires."We believe there are plenty of loyal fans who will want these new tires on their vehicles in time for the fall football season and the many football stadium tailgate gatherings," Kopplin said. With college basketball just as fiercely supported on many campuses, the sales potential appears strong, according to All Sports Tire projections. Further, when factoring in the constant influx of new students at any university, coupled with the ever-increasing alumni numbers, the future looks bright for collegiate tires. Additionally, Internet sales will likely play a key future role, making the tires available nationwide to alumni and fans, no matter where they are located. Internet sales are available through the www.selecttire.com website. All Sports Tire has received official licensing approval by the Collegiate Licensing Company, and will have tires available in May for the first two schools ? the University of Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles. Collegiate tires for the Georgia Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers and Alabama Crimson Tide will follow, with plans to expand to specific tires for the top 30 college teams as the program grows."The early reaction is great. My first sales contact was Barron Tire, a large distributor in Florida, and they gave us an immediate order for 5,000 tires," said Kopplin. He said discussions are being held to possibly sell the tires through Goodyear retail outlets, as well."This is an exciting concept, and we are pleased to be involved in the manufacturing of these unique tires," said Jon Rich, Goodyear's president of North American Tire. "We have the technology that allows us to take this to different steps, perhaps even to build the images of school mascots into the tires, along with the team names."The ideas for future development of the sports-minded tires are almost without limits.
We often ignore our tires unless they're flat. But they play a vital role in the overall condition of your car. Maintain them properly, and you'll save money on repairs and on fuel costs.Keeping your tires properly inflated ensures that they wear longer and can prevent accidents. Your car likely has a card or sticker attached to the door edge or the inside of the glove box door. The right amount of air your tires need is specified here. In case your car doesn't have this sticker, you can check your owner's manual.Serious accidents can happen if your tires are under-inflated or overloaded. One of my tires blew-out on me and caused an accident. Luckily I was on a little traveled country road and was going slowly. I hate to think of what might have happened if I had been in major traffic.Buy your own quality tire gauge. You can't tell if tires are inflated properly just by looking. And the air meters at your service station may not be correct!Ask your auto supply dealer for a tire gauge calibrated up to 80 PSI. They'll know what you mean, even if you don't.Take a moment at the beginning of each month to check your tire pressure (don't forget the spare! Uhm, you do have a spare tire, don't you??) Check them before you get in the car to drive. Write down the actual under-inflation amount for each tire. Take this info with you to the service station. Now measure the inflation again and record these numbers. (Don't worry, this only takes a couple minutes.) Now inflate the tires to a level that equals the warm pressure (that you just took) plus the first under-inflation amount. (called the "cold" inflation pressure)If the above instructions sound intimidating or confusing, take your car to a shop and give them the "cold" pressure numbers. They'll put the correct amount of air in your tires for a minimum fee ? sometimes they'll not charge you at all.The leading cause of tire failure is under-inflation. So make a habit to check them once a month.Overloading your vehicle can lead to tire failure, too. Just because you have a pick-up truck doesn't mean it can carry an infinite load.Schedule a tire check into your calendar each month and you'll save money, save fuel, and perhaps, even save your family from a car accident..

The tires are very much known as the part of the vehicle that keeps the vehicle on the road and also helps in making the ride much more comfortable. Did you know that tires have rating systems? Well, this is quite true and these ratings are actually to provide information on the tire's traction, tread wear, speed rating, load rating, and temperature resistance. You see, a car's performance is greatly affected by the type of tire that it has.

Vibration and shaking are two of the major problems that passengers could feel when a tire rotates. The best thing to do if you encounter a problem such as this would be to have your tires properly balanced. So how do you achieve this kind of balance for your tires? Try to position the weights of the wheel. By doing such, you actually counterbalance the heavy parts and spots of the whole wheel and tire assembly. You see, if your wheels are properly aligned, the angles of your wheels are adjusted so as to suit the correct positions of your vehicle. This move actually assists greatly in keeping your tires longer. However, wheel alignments should be done by a qualified technician.

The next question is, when you need to rotate your tires? Go check your owner's manual. Information regarding this is included there. Find out how frequently do you need to rotate your tires and how do you go about it. You see, if you rotate your tires too much or not too often, your tires actually suffer and could get irregular wear and shorten its life.

If you accidentally get a punctured tire, do not be afraid to ask for assistance from qualified tire repair people. That way, they can actually estimate if the puncture is too large to be patched up or if the puncture is small enough that the tire can still run properly if repaired.

Dodge vehicles, just like any other vehicle, also rely on tires when it comes to performance. Statistics have it that when a tire is filled with too much air or when it riding flat, chances are that your vehicle and your pocket would suffer greatly. You see, your vehicle would have to feel every bump and turn on the road which could wear down the vehicle's parts. Your pocket could also suffer for you would have to purchase replacement parts for the damaged ones. Also, if you drive with tires that are not inflated right, fuel is actually used up greatly which could result to you buying more gallons of gas.

With all the attention that the Dodge brand gives to each vehicle that they produce, it is only fitting that Auto Parts Deal offer top of the line Dodge replacement parts like tires and wheels to match their vehicles' performance. The store holds various Dodge parts like wheel covers, bumper covers, projector headlights and tailgates among many others. The company boasts of an impressive array of Dodge parts and accessories which is continually updated.

You may have found the right kind of vehicle that suits your needs as well as your wants. Of course, the choosing part has been one of the most difficult things you have ever done. This is still the same case when it comes to choosing the right kinds of tires for your dream machine.

When purchasing a vehicle, you would have first to be equipped with the proper knowledge about your car's specifications when it comes to tires. You would have to be knowledgeable about the right size, type, and thread of the tire.

The size of a tire is actually specified on the car owner's manual. If you have gone through this document, you surely would have come across this information along with the right amount of tire pressure that these tires should have. Or, you can also look for the label inside the glove box or on the driver's side door post. These are locations where the proper tire size is usually located. Make sure that you purchase the right size. If you buy an oversized tire, it can actually rub parts of your car and wear these parts down earlier than it should. On the other hand, an undersized tire could make your vehicle overheat.

There are various types of tires available in the market. It should be important that you know just what type of tire would fit your vehicle best. If you have a performance vehicle, then you are most likely to get performance tires. Other tire types include winter tires, all season tires, run flat tires, all-terrain tires, and mud tires. Consult your car owner's manual regarding this.

The tread of your tire is responsible for keeping your vehicle on the road despite various conditions. Mud and snow tires are mostly all season tires. This means that it could be used in various types of roads even those that have snow, slush, rain, or mud. However, for most vehicles, the standard highway treads do the trick of keeping the vehicle on the road.

Meanwhile, at Same Day Car Parts, there are thousands of Honda parts or Nissan parts available for car owners just like you. These are easily accessed at the comforts of your own home. Assistance is also ready in any case there are some inquiries regarding Honda parts that you might be needing. These parts are simply not just for keeping your vehicle on the road but also are good in keeping them in tiptop condition.

Throughout North America and many other parts of the world ATVs and dirt bike off road trail parks and facilities continue to grow. As the sport of ATV racing and recreational off road riding becomes more popular, the success of established trails encourages additional riding areas to be developed. The growing number of enthusiastic ATV riders is not the only cause for a demand of more trails. All ATV riders, new and old, want more trails for the challenge. ATVers demand new trails because they strive to conquer anything they can. Riding off road with ATVs has become a sport many dedicate themselves to, but there are just as many people who enjoy the sport on a sporadic basis. Renting ATVs and riding the trails is not an uncommon tourist attraction in many areas of the United States. Because of this many people have experienced and enjoyed ATV riding at some of the trail parks around the nation. Some now dedicated ATV riders started out by taking a recreational off road drive at one of these tourist trail parks.Perhaps some of the most extravagant ATV and dirt bike trails established are those in the Appalachian Mountains in West Virginia. The Hatfield-McCoy Trails stretch for over 500 miles and growing. They have come to be known as "Trails Heaven." These ATV trails attract all types of rider and accommodations for the different crowds are abundant. In the areas surrounding "Trails Heaven" there are hotels, bed and breakfast inns, ATV rentals shops, ATV and dirt bike mechanical shops, guided tours and other activities to fill a weekend vacation. This area is the place to be for any of the ATV racing, riding and special events you are interested in. Bringing your own off road vehicle is allowed at "Trails Heaven," but a permit is required for all riders, rental or other. The Hatfield-McCoy Trails are also the host of several high scale ATV and dirt bike riding events throughout the year. These are the events where you can meet hundreds of fellow ATV enthusiasts. In 2005 there will be an ATV/dirt bike jamboree for riders to participate in. The Appalachian trails also coordinate a Dirt Days riding event. They will also be the host for the National ATV and dirt bike rally week in '05.Places like "Trails Heaven" are a great riding spot for ATVers of any skill level because they have the proper accommodations for all. There are many other similar ATV trails established, however, if you are a regular rider, you probably want to find your own, local trails and make the big trail parks a weekend event.Whether you are new to the sport or just looking for some new trails to experience, there are several web sites that help you locate the right place. At trailsource.com you can choose a region anywhere in the world to search for a specific ATV riding area. ATVTrails.org does the same, but for United States trails only. With these search tools you can find a local riding spot, or plan to visit the large, high traffic trails for a weekend, such as at the Hatfield-McCoy Trails. is a successful freelance author that writes regularly for http://www.atv-parts-n-accessories.com/, a site that focuses exclusively on atv reviews, as well as tips onchoosing parts and accessories.
All the parts of the motorcycle are essential and the tires are one of them. Basically, it is the most contributing factor that makes the motorcycles move. So if it is important, then tires should be given much attention too. There are different types of wheels for different types of motorcycles. It has different sizes and surfaces too. Some tires have spikes which are used for dirt bike races and other kinds of races. Some tires are smooth which are used in highways and concrete roads.Tires have to be maintained and checked once in a while because its durability depends on how much you use it. New tires are treated differently because it's just like you being given a different task of work to do. You don't get used to it easily so you need to adjust. Tires are like those too. They have to keep up or warmed in order to function well. New tires have to be used all over again several times. It's important to keep your tires a little wasted to prevent it from sliding.Temperature affects the tire pressure and it is a contributing factor to the effects on your tires. What is meant by temperature is that when tires are not used long enough, they become a little bit cold. Time also affects the pressure of your tires. That particularly focuses on the duration of the tires. If you use your motorcycles often, don't get shocked if you notice them getting thinner. Tire pressure should be observed and checked. If the day's temperature is high and exceeds the normal, expect your tires to inflate. Though this may not be considered to be very dangerous, still it should be given measures. You should get the best tire suited for your motorcycle's performance and compatibility. In purchasing tires, it is best if you would have enough knowledge in the details. If not, talk to your trusted dealers and mechanics. Of course they will sell out good products for their standard and company's name. you should not take for granted the quality of your tires because if you think of budgeting to a low cost, you never notice your tires get spoiled in just a short time which entitles you to buy a new one again at a cheaper price. You can never go wrong in buying tires if you choose the ones with the correct brand and quality. It would be advisable if you pick commercial tires which are commonly being used by professionals and racers. Things you should consider in choosing tires are durability, level of performance, its ability to grip on wet surfaces and quality. The best way to maintain your tires is still by cleaning it up and avoiding it from scary areas. For comments and inquiries about the article visit http://www.aftermarketmotorcyclepartsnow.com.

(NC)?Every year there is this dilemma: should you mount winter tires or should you stay with your all season tires? We always question is it going to snow a lot or is it just going to be cold and will our all- season tires be good enough. Well here is some news for you, winter tires are not only designed to work better in snow, slush and ice but also when it simply gets cold.Bruce Bridgman, National Marketing Manager Toyo Tire Canada Inc. says that among other things the tire's tread rubber needs to remain flexible to do the job it was designed to do. "Good winter tires are designed to handle every aspect of winter driving."In a study done by the Quebec Ministry of Transport comparing all season vs winter tires, results showed that you can get up to 25 percent better breaking and 38 percent better collision avoidance by using a proper winter tire. The ministry summary concluded: "Winter tires perform better than the All Season tires, particularly in very cold temperatures. Furthermore, during braking, a crucial component of road safety, winter tires do provide superior results when compared to All Season tires.Consequently, any driver concerned with vehicle safety will have good winter tires installed on their vehicle" during the cold weather season.Toyo Tire Canada designs Cold Weather Tires for Canadian winters. This is probably why they are considered one of the top winter tire manufacturers. "We design our tires for varied and severe Canadian winters,"says Bridgman, "and as a result we are able to provide a superior performing and unique product for Canadian drivers. Using award- winning state of the art super computer design technology we have an edge on competitor's products".Many summer and all season tires start to lose their tread compound flexibility as the ambient temperature drops. Bridgman states that with the current increasing trend for vehicles to come equipped with performance tires right from the factory, it is even more important to consider "Cold Weather Tires" for winter driving. One of the primary design criteria for a performance tire is to provide improved handling through better braking, cornering and acceleration capabilities in dry or rainy conditions. Although it's virtually impossible to achieve the same results in winter conditions, to enhance the cold weather driving experience of your performance vehicle you need a dedicated winter tire."We have been led to believe that all season tires are suitable for all conditions," says Bridgman. "However your best option for those cold, icy, slushy, wet winter days is a full set of four Cold Weather Tires and a dose of common sense driving.
